3 Reasons Why Affiliate Marketing Doesn’t Work
Tons of people see the opportunity of affiliate marketing, but I can almost guarantee you that over 95%+ of marketers fail. Why is that? Is this something that people can actually be successful at it? I mean, affiliate marketing has to work because so many businesses create affiliate program, which means that it is successful right?
It has always mystified me that among those who purchase courses, many do not complete it. A marketer could make the most powerful and fail-proof program ever in order to help individuals develop a profitable online business, but out of 100 people who purchase the course, less than 25% of those individuals will even complete the course. Hmm, I wonder why fail at affiliate marketing so much huh!?
There are 3 reasons of why people fail at affiliate marketing, and with these points, you can avoid the pitfalls of failure and build a profitable business with affiliate market.
Wrong Niche
Selecting your niche is one of the most important things when it comes to affiliate marketing and
making money online. If you get this part wrong, you’re going to make it extremely difficult to generate
revenue, and you may not make any money with your efforts if you select the wrong niche.
Doing this step correctly involves doing a little research. I know, I know, this part can seem a bit boring. However, if you talk with any of the most successful affiliate marketers out there, they will tell you that they do tons of research before taking any type of action. Research can involve keyword research,
studying competitors, or simply finding a product that is hot that could sale very easily. Once you understand research, this is where the big bucks are created and you will absolutely love doing the necessary research for your business.

Here are a few Hot niches to choose from when doing affiliate marketing:
-Make Money Online
-Health & Fitness
-Financial/Investment
-Dating
-Personal Development
-Home and Garden
Those are not the only profitable niches out there, but you can generally be safe when it comes to
selecting a good money-making product in these niches.

A profitable and great niche in affiliate marketing will involve these 3 qualifying points:
1) A lot of people are passionate about the niche
2) Tons of people spend a lot of money in the niche
3) There are a lot of CONVERTING offers (sales) in the niche
Choosing a niche like Creating Bar Soap is something that I would not strongly recommend. Sure, there are a ton of businesses out there that make good money selling handmade soap, but there are not enough of people out there interested in learning how to make the soap. This is what I consider to be “too-niche specific”. If you look at the qualifying points above, this niche does not qualify. Therefore I say DENIED!
Not Promoting A Converting Offer
I previously gave you the criteria for knowing whether you are in a great niche or not, in order to make money with affiliate marketing. Point number 3 from that criteria is one of the most important and tall-tale signs:
“There a lot of CONVERTING offers (sales) in the niche.”
If there are not a lot of sales for the product that you are trying to sale as an affiliate, you will not make much profits from your efforts, no matter how much traffic you drive to your offer. There’s a reason that product is not selling, and you shouldn’t try to be the savior to help generate sales for that product.
I will be vulnerable and tell you that I am experiencing this in my business right now. I currently have an offer in the real estate niche. My offer gets in front of approximately 1 – 5 buyers each week. Statistics say that I’m supposed to convert 1%-3% of those who see my offer. I’ve ran this offer for close to a year now with no conversions! So why am I still promoting it if it’s not converting?
It was a product I believed in but just because I believe in it, doesn’t mean that it is going to sale. So after I’m done writing this blog post, you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to go and change that non-converting offer to a converting offer that is PROVEN to have sales on a consistent basis.
Not Promoting Enough Affiliate Links
In business, how can you make money if no one knows that you have a business? You can’t! The same thing goes for affiliate marketing. You will not be able to generate any commissions if you do not have affiliate links out on the internet in different platforms so that you can make sales. There has to be affiliate links for the customer to buy products from you.
I am a firm believer in having a blog. I teach that every business should have a blog in today’s world. This is the perfect place to embed a ton of affiliate links for your traffic. I also use my social media platforms.
I have a good number of affiliate links in my Youtube channels and their videos in the description. I also just started an Instagram account that has my affiliate links in the bio sections. Make yourself offers available.
As an affiliate marketer, you should have access to so many great affiliate offers, that you can recommend just about anything in your content. Keep in mind that you should not be spamming your audience, but rather you should be recommending what works for you and your business. Your audience will love you for this. At this moment, provide your affiliate link. Your audience wants to buy, you just have to give them a reason to buy.
The Real Secret To Success
There was a song created by an R&B legend by the name of Aaliyah. She had this song where the lyrics said “if at first you don’t succeed, don’t yourself off and try again”. She was talking about a guy that had to muster up the impossible strength inside of himself to speak to her because he was interested in her. Unfortunately she wasn’t talking about affiliate marketing. 🙂
You are pursuing affiliate marketing relentlessly. You are trying things, and you are failing. You experience little successes here and there, but for some reason you’re not profiting like how you desire! You can taste the victory and it seems so close, but then at the last moment the victory slips from your grasps and now it’s just another story of failure.
I know the feeling all too well. My electricity was shut off in my house as a newlywed because I couldn’t pay the bills due to my failures in entrepreneurship.
I say unto you…don’t give up. Dust yourself off and try again. Trial and Error. This is the only way that you can find out what works for you and your business in this journey. You don’t have to make the same
mistakes I’ve made in the past. That is why I write these blogs. Some people find great success on the first try, but this is not the majority…I can assure you that. Remain vigilant.
